What is the difference between smart vs. non-smart air fryers?
Smart air fryers are Wi-Fi compatible and connect to the free VeSync app, letting you adjust cooking time and temperature, monitor progress, and browse hundreds of recipes from your phone. Please note that due to safety regulations (IEC/EN 60335) all air fryers must be switched on manually at the appliance, and voice control is not supported.
Current Wi-Fi-compatible models include:
• Turbo Tower™ 10.8-Litre Pro Smart Air Fryer
• Dual Blaze Twinfry™ 10-Litre Smart Air Fryer
• Dual Blaze™ 6.4-Litre Smart Air Fryer
• Air Fryer Lite 3.8-Litre Smart
Non-smart air fryers are operated using their onboard controls. You can still download the VeSync app to browse online recipes without adding a device. All smart air fryers can also be operated manually.
Can I cook two different foods at the same time?
It depends on your model. Single-basket air fryers work best cooking one type of food at a time, as different foods need different times and temperatures, and flavours can mix.
If you regularly cook two dishes at once, our dual-zone models are designed for exactly that: the Dual Basket 8.5L has two fully independent baskets with Sync Cook and Sync Finish, the Dual Blaze Twinfry™ uses one large basket that divides into two zones, and the Turbo Tower™ range stacks two baskets vertically to save worktop space.
Visit our blog Dual Basket vs Single Basket Air Fryer for more detailed information.
What size air fryer do I need?
As a general guide: 2L suits 1–2 people; 3.8L suits 1–3 portions; 6L serves 3–6 people; 8.5–8.6L dual-zone models suit families wanting two dishes at once; and our 10–10.8L models are ideal for larger households and entertaining.
See each product page for details.
Can I cook a whole chicken in the air fryer?
Yes, in most models—the maximum size depends on basket capacity. As a guide (crisper plate removed where applicable):
- 3.8L: up to 1.5 kg, without cutting it into pieces (crisper plate must be removed)
- 6.4L: up to 2.5 kg
Do I need to preheat my air fryer?
Preheating is not always required, but it may help improve cooking consistency for certain foods by ensuring even heating from the start. Some models include a dedicated preheat option—check your user manual and recipe instructions.
Can I use aluminium foil or parchment paper in the baskets?
Yes. Make sure the food is placed on top of the foil or paper so it doesn't lift during cooking and touch the heating elements, and never let it block the airflow.
For a ready-made option, COSORI air fryer liners are available in our Accessories collection.
Can I put the baskets on my worktop after cooking?
The baskets get very hot during cooking. Use caution when handling them, and only place them on heat-resistant surfaces.
How do I remove the new appliance smell from my air fryer?
First, make sure all protective films have been removed. Then wash the baskets with washing-up liquid, let them dry, and run the air fryer empty at 200°C for 10 minutes.
If a smell lingers, place 1–2 sliced lemons flat in the basket (or use 100 ml of olive oil instead) and run at 200°C for 15 minutes.
Let the basket cool, then clean it before use. For more detail on why this happens and how to fix it, see our guide: why your air fryer smells like plastic.
Why is white smoke or steam coming out of my air fryer?
Some white smoke or steam is normal when using the air fryer for the first time or during cooking. It can also occur when cooking greasy foods, as oil collects beneath the crisper plate—this should not affect cooking, though the basket may be hotter than usual, so handle it with care.
Keeping the basket and the interior clean and free of grease helps reduce smoke.
How do I clean the air fryer baskets? Are they dishwasher-safe?
Most COSORI baskets are dishwasher-safe—check your product page or user manual to confirm for your model. To help the non-stick coating last as long as possible, we recommend handwashing with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge, as high dishwasher temperatures and strong detergents can shorten the coating's lifespan over time.
For stubborn grease, mix 15 ml of water with 30 g of bicarbonate of soda into a paste, spread it on the basket, leave for 15 minutes, then rinse with soap and warm water.
Clean the basket after every use, and never use metal scouring pads—they can damage the coating.
For a full walkthrough, read our step-by-step guide on how to clean your air fryer.
How do I clean the inside of my air fryer?
Unplug the air fryer and make sure it is completely cool. Wipe the inside with a slightly damp, non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water.
For stubborn residue, use the bicarbonate of soda paste described above, or heat 230 ml of white vinegar with 15 g of cornflour until thickened, let it cool, apply for around 20 minutes, then wipe off with a soft cloth.
Is it normal for the basket coating to fade over time?
Some wear is normal with regular use. Even if parts of the coating show wear, this should not affect your air fryer's performance. Using non-metal utensils and avoiding abrasive cleaning helps the coating last longer.
What is the basket coating made of? Is it safe?
Coating materials vary by model, so please check your product page for the exact specification.
For example, the Dual Blaze Twinfry™ Compact features a PFAS-free ceramic coating, the Turbo Tower™ Pro Smart features 100% ceramic-coated food-contact surfaces free from PFAS, and other models such as the Dual Blaze 6.4L use a non-stick coating.
All COSORI air fryers are designed to meet applicable UK product safety requirements.

You can then adjust settings, monitor cooking progress, and browse recipes from your phone.
Due to UK regulatory requirements, the appliance must be switched on manually, and voice control is not supported.
How do I find online recipes in the VeSync app?
