What is the Secret to Cooking a Perfect Egg in an Air Fryer?
Cooking a perfectly round, non-rubbery egg that fits your English muffin seamlessly is incredibly easy in an air fryer, as long as you use the right tool:
1. The Ramekin or Silicone Cup Method: Grease a small ovenproof ramekin, silicone crumpet ring, or a giant muffin cup with a bit of butter or oil spray. Crack the egg directly into it, season with salt and pepper, and place it into your COSORI air fryer basket alongside your meat and muffins.
2. The Timing Trick: To get that signature fast-food texture with a fully set white and a slightly soft, rich yolk, cook at 180°C for about 5–6 minutes. If you prefer a completely hard-cooked egg for eating on the go, simply leave it in for an extra minute!
How to Layer Your Air Fryer Breakfast Muffin for Maximum Crunch
To prevent your breakfast sandwich from becoming soggy from the steam of the cooked egg, assembly order is everything:
The Perfect Assembly: Start with the toasted bottom half of the English muffin, followed by your sizzling sausage patty or crispy bacon strips. Next, layer on a slice of British Cheddar cheese so it melts beautifully from the residual heat of the meat. Top it with your perfectly round air-fried egg, and finish with the crispy top muffin. This layering technique traps the juices in the middle and keeps your muffin crusts shatteringly crisp!
